Paper is quick to tick and slow to add up. When you want the totals worked out for you, that is a free habit tracker that shows the whole month on one screen.

Track it as a habit

Weekly or monthly?

A monthly sheet shows streaks. A weekly one forgives. If the first four days of a month go badly, a monthly sheet stares back with a gap at the start for the next four weeks, and plenty of people stop filling it in around then. On a weekly sheet, a bad Tuesday is gone by Monday.

So use weekly if you are starting something new or restarting after a break. Switch to a monthly grid once a habit holds, because that is when you want to see runs longer than seven days. Our monthly printable tracker is on this site too.

Why the dates are printed

Undated weekly sheets get reused. That sounds thrifty, and it wipes out the only record you had. With the dates printed, a sheet from March is a sheet from March. Keep them in a folder and you have the whole year in order.

Four weeks on one page is the paper-saving option. It fits eight habits and drops the notes line, which is the trade.

The line at the bottom

What got in the way this week is the most useful thing on the page. Numbers tell you a habit slipped. The line tells you it slipped because Thursday is football, which is a problem with a fix.

Print a weekly habit tracker

  1. Pick any date in the first week

The sheet snaps to that week's first day.

  2. Choose Monday or Sunday starts

Match the way you think about your week.

  3. Choose one, two or four weeks on a page

One leaves room to write. Four saves paper.

  4. Type your habits, one per line

    Short names print best.

  5. Print, or download for a spreadsheet

The download has one column per date.

Questions people ask

Is this weekly habit tracker free to print?

Yes. No account and no watermark. Everything is made in your browser.

How many habits fit on a weekly sheet?

Twelve with one or two weeks on the page, plus two blank rows. With four weeks on the page, eight.

Can I use it in Excel or Google Sheets?

Download it for a spreadsheet. You get a CSV file with a column for each date and a Done column, which opens in any spreadsheet program.

Numbers are easy. Doing it every day is the hard part.

A calculator tells you where you are once. If the thing you actually want is to keep something up, that takes a record rather than a result.
